Is it a vase or two faces? Similar to that psychology test that is always used in the movies, artist John Stezaker creates his own versions with postcards. Whether it is classic movie stills, vintage postcards, or illustrations from old books, he creates an entirely new work of art through collage in order to invent a new meaning to the image. No longer do these old images tell a story of the past, but rather forces the viewer to take a deeper look into their own mind!

sharpie designs
Recently I stumbled upon this artist who creates all of her room installations entirely with sharpie makers. Charlotte Mann creates a room within a room white only a white wall "canvas" and thick black marker pens. Personally I love drawing with sharpies because of their density and weight! Never even thought to create art solely with a pen. I guess moms should allow their kids to paint on the walls!

book theatre
The Ice Book is the story of a princess who lures a boy into the forest in order to warm her heart of ice.
The performance blends animation, puppetry, and film to bring a pop-up book vividly to life in front of the audience's eyes.

not just one necklace
We have all tried or succeeded in converting our old necklace into something different, but now the task has been perfected. Convertible jewelry has been successfully rendered by Nan Fusco of Laguna Beach. Not only does her line of jewelry pieces convert into one other way to adorn yourself but most of them can become 6 or 8 different looks! She uses loops, hooks, pulleys, and ties to make each piece capable of converting into several styles. Plus, only the best materials make up the collection with semi-precious stones, tropical stones, 24-karat gold, and vintage silver.
However, Nan Fusco plans to keep her jewelry label small and unique. The collection is only sold in Laguna Beach and at Tootsies in Dallas, Houston, and Atlanta. Thus these great pieces that could work for every outfit are definitely high-quality limited edition pieces.

fashioning film
I just stumbled upon this fashion blog, Nowness, and I am currently loving the articles, especially this video featuring Rodarte's fashion. The Spring 2011 collection designed by Kate and Laura Mulleavy, display a clear inspiration from Northern California during the 1970s, the gold rush, asian culture, and Redwood forests. The video by Todd Cole entitled, The Curve of Forgotten Things, features Elle Fanning exploring the historic Baldwin House in LA while whimsically switching outfits throughout. It is a very artistic film that inspires fashion, art, nature, and vintage style.

As Fall 2011 Fashion Week is nearing an end, majority of the shows have been published on Style.com. Personally, my clothing preference is more of a spring look then fall so majority of the outfits and shows that I liked definitely exude more of that feel. But none the less, fall is the main season for fashion so you must check out the shows and see what this upcoming season style is all about!
Above are some of my favorite shows from New York'f Fashion Week, and even though it was hard, I included 5 of my favorite looks for you too see and get a good preview of the entire show!

roses are gold
I am a silver girl all the way….or at least I have been until I discovered rose gold.
Rose gold is all the rage this season so make sure you find a great piece to add to your jewelry box.
Above are some great pieces I found and love in this particular shade of metal.
If gold must be added to my jewelry collection then make it rose!!!
